She particularly specialises in anxiety, depression, focus and learning problems, and mood or bipolar issues. For not only patients, but their families/friends and partners as well! Her aim being to help, teach, treat and support. And assist the patient to eventually self-manage their mental health, preferably without mainstream medication…

Mental Made Easy:
Tracking & Treating the Source

Claire has been an ‘across-the-board’ counsellor for many years, dealing with almost all aspects of behaviour, health, and trauma-and a wide variety of mental health issues. Her current and most exciting work focuses on tracking and treating, what she calls the real sources of mental problems”. As per her research, so-called mental ‘disorders’ or ‘serious mental illnesses’, can have sources which may be surprising—and surprisingly logical.

Don’t you sometimes feel” says Claire, “that having any sort of mental problem, is a bit like being assigned to the world of ‘disorders’, labelled as ‘brain’ or ‘nervous system’ or ‘learning’ for example. You’re labelled, often with confusion, most often given a pill, and so often left to your own devices to figure out what to do next, even if you still don’t feel right!”

Well, here’s the thing: mental health issues are not always mental disorders-their sources can be simple and so easily solved.

Don’t be fooled” she says, “into thinking that if you have anxiety, for example, that you have a brain disorder. Sources of so-called mental issues can be SO varied, we can’t apply a one-size-fits-all approach to everyone-which is often a pill.”

Go for good therapy” she maintains, “rather than just mainstream meds, which can leave you feeling like a washout—possibly help the symptoms, but not tackle the source, which can be simple.”

Mental Made Easy:
Possible Sources of Anxiety

Claire has started a movement called ‘Mental made Easy’, precisely because mental health can be so simple to deal with, once you understand where issues can come from and what sources can be. As she often says, “a horrible symptom doesn’t have to have an equally ‘horrible’ source!

She suggests alternatives in terms of diagnoses AND treatment, to offer innovative therapy that works, and offers solutions not dependent on taking mainstream medication (which can alter body chemistry, cause further side effects and take away quality of life in the process).

My mission through this movement” she says, “is to take mental health out of complexity and into the ease of the most relevant, alternative diagnoses and treatments; to offer you a HIGH quality of life which doesn’t reduce you to the bare bones of survival or surviving medication.

And to TEACH as I treat-so that you have an understanding of what is actually going on, to eventually learn to self-manage your issues. This may sound surprising, but it’s quite possible, as so many of my clients will testify to. There is also help for your loved ones, to assist them in understanding your issues, if applicable, and giving you the right support through your process.

So what does this mean for you?

If you work with Claire-in either group or individual mental health sessions-you’ll receive the benefit of a highly seasoned counsellor in all counselling modalities. She currently specialises in diagnosing and treating Bipolar 1 and 2, anxiety, depression, focus issues, learning problems-and her exciting new discovery, the ‘hyper-flat syndrome’ which is strongly related to Bipolar. Read all about it in her blog on this site…

Mental Made Easy:
The Relationship Between Anxiety & ‘Mood Syndrome’

With Claire-

YOU ARE: guaranteed a proper diagnosis, with sound investigation into your issue, to uncover and treat its TRUE source.

YOU CAN: use natural meds, if required, rather than chemicals which make you feel miserable, or don’t really solve your issue.

YOU CAN be given unique, easy-to-use tools and innovative methods, which work to not only help you cope, but work on the principles of neuroplasticity to eventually self-manage your issues.

YOU CAN: change who you are as a person, as a result, not just treat an ‘illness’.

YOU CAN: book individual sessions or be in carefully selected groups: the benefit of groupwork is being with people who all experience similar issues, to have an easy, interesting, even joyful experience. You’ll solve issues, with the opportunity to be supported, sponsored, and even mentored by your peers-and your therapist. Partners, family members and loved ones are all welcome to attend with your consent-or are invited to attend separate group sessions, to learn how to be able to better support you.

Groupwork can really be the way to go, if you’re experiencing some or much of what Claire’s described above; not to say one-on-one sessions aren’t available. But in a group with people who all experience such similar patterns and pattern symptoms, it can be an easy, interesting, even joyful experience-to solve the issues, with the opportunity to be supported, sponsored, and even mentored by your peers-and your therapist.

Partners, family members and loved ones are all welcome to attend with your consent-or are invited to attend separate group sessions, to learn how to be able to better support you.
